My professional interest has been Lagrangian methods of oceanographic
measurements. This is the technique of using drifters to follow ocean
currents, mapping-out the circulation and taking measurements (like
temperature and pressure) along the way. I also took part in several
research cruises to such exotic places as Iceland and the Azores. Working
closely with my new colleagues at FSU, my areas of research will include
Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler sampling, microstructure profiling,
current-meter measurements, and Lagrangian methods.
