Research

My research is focused on the numerical modeling of internal waves (IW) in the ocean. As a first approach we compare an idealized simualtion of IW in the HYCOM to an analytical solution. The final aim of this study is to seek how well IW, the induced mixing and their breaking is resolved in a numerical model. In the past, I worked on the significance of different types of model forcing on the tidal regime in the Gulf of Mexico.
