Research

I am investigating the representation of mixing in the MIT global circulation model (MITgcm) in the surface mixed layer. One way to do this is to examine the balance between incoming surface radiation and diffusive fluxes that enter and escape through the sides of the isothermal mixed layer. I will also be looking at other ways the mixed layer is mixed such as through eddies.
