Oceanography Fellowship Program
The Florida State University Department of Oceanography has established the Oceanography
Fellowship Program to recognize outstanding new applicants for graduate study in the Department of
Oceanography.
The Oceanography Fellowship carries a stipend of $21,500 plus tuition per calendar year beginning with the Fall term.
Oceanography Fellows must be appointed as Graduate Assistants under the sponsorship of a faculty member in the Department of Oceanography, full-time, Ph.D. degree-seeking students during their tenure; and they must register for 9 to 12 hours each term as stipulated by the College of Arts and Sciences.
A student can hold the Oceanography Fellowship for a maximum of four years.
Support beyond the first year is contingent upon satisfactory progress reported by the student's committee
and faculty sponsor.
Selection is competitive and is based on the student's application for graduate study to the Department of Oceanography. The student's prior academic record including coursework, GPA and GRE scores, letters of recommendation, and prior experience will be considered. For information about how to apply to the Department of Oceanography, please visit our application page.
The deadline for applying has already passed for this year. Be sure to apply early for next year.
