My research interest since retirement is the generation of currents from eddies running into the western boundary of the ocean. The East Ryukyu Current off the southeast coast of Okinawa Island and the South China Sea Branch of Kuroshio along the upper continental slope off the China coast are examples. I will work with colleagues in both China and Japan to sort out the dynamics.
